Gearbox doing BIA: Hell's Highway demos
Plus PC Achievements, PS3 Trophies.
Randy Pitchford, general of Gearbox Software, is confident there will be demos of Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway at some point.
Speaking to Eurogamer, Pitchford said he was unsure exactly when a demo would be released, as he faced the old 'do it now and the game takes longer' dilemma.
"We are 100 per cent certain there will be a demo for Xbox 360, 99 per cent certain there will be a demo for PS3, and about 50 per cent certain there will be a demo for PC," said Pitchford.
"I'm still not certain exactly when the best time to release the demo will be - there are two camps. One camp believes we should continue to focus 100 per cent of our attention on the few remaining issues.
"People working on those issues instead were working on a demo, the whole process would take a little longer. We have branched our demo builds, however, so we're committed to them - pretty much," he added.
Pitchford went on to lord his obscene 72,000 Xbox 360 Gamerpoints, a system he likes so much he wants to recreate it on PC.
"Not quite yet, but we've got our eyes on something," said Pitchford of the desktop rewards, citing that he wanted his experiences to be "persistent".
Similarly, Pitchford touched on Trophies for the PS3 version, which were introduced after Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway was submitted to certification. Pitchford remains optimistic about adding support for these.
"We're still learning about the Trophy system for PS3. By some accounts, Sony will take care of things. By others, we can get involved and do them ourselves. I care about this kind of stuff, so you can bet that we'll make a decision as Sony releases the Trophy system," added Pitchford.
"Our game was in certification with Sony prior to them launching the Trophy system, so it's something we'll have to re-visit. Or, we could just delay the game again? Joking!"
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway is due out for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on 26th September.
