Thamur's Corpse puzzles and the Frozen Lake puzzle solutions

You'll climb up from the previous area onto the edge of an area called the Frozen Lake, with Thamur's Corpose laid out in front of you up ahead.

Retrieve a piece of the Chisel

Before proceeding, there are a couple of things to do here, including a rune gate (hiding just a Coffin chest, albeit containing a legendary enchantment) to be unlocked, a Realm Tear to be sealed, and some tricky enemies to defeat.

First, defeat the handful of Wulver dotted around in front of you to buy yourself some space.

Then, turn to the South. You'll see a few things: a Lore Marker embedded in the side of a stone structure, a blue crystal covered in red sap, and just to the right (West) of those, a marked spinning pannel for you to throw your axe at, which raises up a spinning rune totem.

First, read the lore with Atreus.

Then, go and check out the locked gate to the North, with three Runes above it, to see what you need to open it: E, a sideways R, and the upwards-pointing arrow.

Just to the left of the gate is the first spinning rune totem. Hit it twice to display the sideways R.

Then, go to the first totem you saw, by that marked panel where the Lore Marker was. Raise the totem by hitting the panel several times with axe throws, then hit the spinning totem once to display the E.

Finally, the third spinning totem is trapped behind some sap a little further along the North-Western side of the area. You need to grab some red crystal from the tree stump on the the South-Eastern side, lob it at the sap and detonate it as usual with a Shock Arrow to free it up. Hit it once to display the upwards arrow Rune, and the gate opens.

Behind the gate is the Coffin chest and a pile of Hacksilver - it's worth getting to though, as it holds a Legendary Enchantment that boosts your throwing axe damage.

Next up, the crystal covered in sap. Grab some more red crystal from the stump, chuck it at the sap, shoot it with a Shock Arrow and a blue crystal will drop. Take that to the Eastern corner of the lake and put it in the socket to open a Realm Tear. Interact with it for some rare stuff: Dust of Realms.

Finally, there's a coffin to loot in the centre of the lake - and an Ice Ancient nearby! If you touch the sleeping ancient it'll wake up, so it's up to you if you want the practice (and rare loot) or if you want to igore it and press on.

To continue, when you're ready, follow the waypoint to the North-East. You'll soon find yourself up against more new enemies - Ice Nightmares - and then, after climbing under the rock behind them, you'll arrive at the Head of Thamur.

Head of Thamur

This new area is all rather imposing - you're standing right in front of a dead giant's head, after all - but you won't have long to ponder the scale of it; soon enough you're launched into a tricky, and pretty large-scale battle!

Find a way to break the Ice

Enemies! A load of Druagr and more importantly not one but two Ogres appear at once. The best thing to do is pop your Spartan Rage when you have it and focus an Ogre. Getting onto the back of one of those will let you direct it's massive damage output to the other enemies.

Use that one Ogre to take down the other, and as many Draugr as possible while you're at it, and then you're hopefully in the clear. Don't forget any runic summons Atreus has at his disposal though too - it's a great way to crowd control large numbers of foes.

Talk to Sindri

Out of nowhere, here's Sindri. Talk to him to learn of the Dwarves' ability to go invisible (that explains a lot) and then upgrade anything you need to at his shop, before pressing on.
