GPG boss hints at new projects
But nothing on the PS3.
Gas Powered Games boss Chris Taylor has confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that the studio is working on no less than four internal projects.
Speaking in an exclusive interview, Taylor said, "Inside the company I believe we have a total of four, and one extra that we're working on - so that makes five."
Gas Powered Games is best known for producing the Dungeon Siege games and, more recently, hit RTS Supreme Commander. Earlier this month, a job interview placed by the company mentioned a new console project - but did not hint at which platforms the game is in development for.
Now Taylor has revealed that the new titles are "across platforms, we have everything from 360 to Wii to PC, we have all kinds of stuff going on".
However, there is one platform GPG isn't producing games for - "We haven't actually been working on the PS3."
According to Taylor, the PlayStation 3's high price point is putting it "just out of the range of making it a whimsical purchase".
"The price is what's killing people. Otherwise they love the platform, but because it's got the Blu-ray tech built in, it means it's a bigger commitment, and it's going to take people some time to build up for that," he continued.
"It's not like you go into the store, there it is, let's pick it out. The Wii checks that box perfectly, so the Wii is really coming out the winner."
