Hail to the Chimp for PS3/X360
Highly charged political thriller.
Gamecock has revealed that Hail to the Chimp, a quirky party game about fighting over the animal kingdom's throne, will be released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in spring 2008.
Hail to the Chimp is being developed by Wideload Games, the studio headed up by Bungie founder Alex Seropian, whose last game was inventive but flawed action title Stubbs the Zombie, in which you controlled the undead menace.
Wideload's follow-up is billed as an "over-the-top party game" in which the animals have overthrown a lion king following a series of embarrassing scandals and now seek to install a democratically elected ruler.
Naturally this leads to some disputes, and one of the key elements is gaining control of the influential "Clam vote", and it's with this in mind that ten candidates take part in a range of activities set in hazardous locations, forming and breaking alliances with their running mates as you play.
You can catch a glimpse of how it's shaping up in our Hail to the Chimp screenshot gallery. The game will be among several in the fat Gamecock line-up to be shown at E3 next month, too, so watch out for that.
