Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary joins the Master Chief Collection on PC today
Remaining games due later this year.
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, the spruced-up edition of Bungie's seminal Xbox shooter, is available as part of The Master Chief Collection on PC from today.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection launched on Steam, the Microsoft Store, and Xbox Games Pass for PC last December, and unlike the Xbox One version - which currently includes every major game in the series released to date - initially arrived with just Halo: Reach.
As such, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is the second title to grace the collection for PC players, and arrives with "new features, optimisations, and customisations built for the platform". There's the option to play with classic or enhanced visuals, updated shadow and texture quality, plus support 60 fps and above, 4K UHD, ultra-wide displays and different aspect ratios, control rebinding, native mouse/keyboard, and more.
It also includes a selection of "community-requested" features, according to Microsoft, ranging from 'classic' multiplayer audio to Spartan customisation improvements.
Those eager to experience Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary on PC have a number of different options available. It can be purchased separately via Steam and the Microsoft Store, where it costs £6.99/$9.99 USD. Alternatively, it's included in the Halo: Master Chief Collection bundle, which can either be played as part of an Xbox Game Pass subscription on PC or can be purchased for £29.99/$39.99 USD.
Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST (Campaign), and Halo 4 will join the Halo: Master Chief Collection on PC before the year is through.
