The promotional blitz for Halo: Reach is set to start in earnest this week with the premiere of live-action advertising short "Birth of a Spartan."

The teaser, directed by Smart People director Noam Murro, will follow Carter 259's bio-augmentation from an everyday Joe to a fully-fledged Spartan Warrior.

A 60-second version of the teaser will premiere on Sky Sports this Tuesday evening, at the full-time whistle of the Champions League semi-final between Lyon and Bayern Munich. American viewers can first check out the teaser during the broadcast of ABC's "V" on Tuesday night.

For those who miss those premieres 0 and somehow avoid what is sure to be saturation ad-bombing through follow-up TV ads and movie trailers - the short will also be available at welcometonobleteam.com from 5am GMT Wednesday. An extended, two-and-a-half minute version of the trailer will also be available as a download for Xbox Live Gold members the same day.

Check out our preview of Halo: Reach's multiplayer beta to see why it's worth looking forward to the game's release on 24th September.
