Han Solo, Leia and Palpatine detailed in Star Wars: Battlefront
There aren't enough scoundrels in your life.
Earlier this month data-miners discovered that Star Wars: Battlefront will let you play as Princess Leia, Han Solo and Emperor Palpatine. Now we have the details on just what playing as these characters entails.
As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, lead hero designer Jamie Keen described Leia as "very much about support play, buffing team members and holding positions." Players that spawn near her will spawn as Alderaan Honour Guards.
She'll also have a boosted blaster shot called Trooper Bane that can eliminate a stormtrooper in a single shot. It will also severely damage and stun Villains. Another one of her abilities is the Enhanced Squad Shield, a stronger version of the Squad Shield Power Card that she can still shoot through with Trooper Bane active. Furthermore, Leia can order supply drops, offering power-ups for ground troops and health boosts for Heroes.
Next up is Han Solo. "Similar to a Rebel trooper, but with a greatly boosted arsenal, Han Solo might be the easiest Hero character to get into," Keen noted of the classic character. His three abilities are Rapid Fire, which lets you shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger without fear of overheating; Lucky Shot, a "build up and release" power that's useful against infantry and Darth Vader; and Shoulder Charge, a dashing maneuver.
Finally, Emperor Palpatine attacks with Force Lightning, wherein he emits lightning from his fingertips as he did in Return of the Jedi. He also has a Chain Lightning attack that deals damage in all directions, and a Force Dash that whisks him forward at top speed. He's also the Empire's support Villain and can use the Imperial Resource ability to boost the health of other villains and offer resources to fellow dark side followers.
Star Wars: Battlefront will launch in the UK on 19th November for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
