Have a gander at Space Pirates and Zombies 2
Indie space strategy game out later this year.
Canadian indie developer MinMax Games has unveiled Space Pirates and Zombies 2, the sequel to the 2011's popular spaceship strategy game.
The two-person team has been working on the PC and Mac follow-up for 16 months and the pre-alpha single-player and multiplayer combat footage below is our first look at the results.
The idea is you survive in an evolving post-apocalyptic galaxy. The zombie threat is defeated, but with infrastructure collapsed fuel is scarce, so yo must scavenge for survival.
The galaxy is initially populated by hundreds of AI captains also trying to survive. Ships come into conflict as resources become ever more scarce. You can form factions to help defend territories, or operate in a group of bandits.
The action portion of the game revolves around ship construction, tactics, and salvage. Combat creates damaged ships and dead crew, but it also provides new salvaged parts, which are modular and randomly generated. You can break parts off of enem ships with your tractor beam and connect them to your ship even during battles.
The game is due out Q4 2014.
