Heihachi, Toro join PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
Character trailers show off new moves, PaRappa stage.
Tekken favourite Heihachi Mishima and Toro Inoue, the Sony Cat, have joined the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale roster of playable characters.
Heihachi, who was a character in Tekken on the PSone in 1995, comes complete with signature moves Electric Wind God Fist and Twin Pistons. According to Daniel Maniago, community manager at developer SuperBot Entertainment, Heihachi is a close-range character who overwhelms opponents with quick, powerful strikes.
"Heihachi's combo potential ranks among the best in the roster, turning every encounter into a stylish martial arts exhibition," he said.
Toro, who is most popular in Japan, has a stance-based fighting style. "He transitions seamlessly from a close-range fighter in his Justice form, to a ranged specialist in his Torobi form, to an effective wide-area controller in his Oni form," Maniago explained.
The addition of Heihachi and Toro raise the character count to 10. They are: Kratos, Sly Cooper, Mael Radec, Sweet Tooth, Fat Princess, PaRappa, Nathan Drake, Big Daddy, Toro Inoue and Heihachi Mishima. Rumoured characters include Cole MacGrath and Solid Snake.
Meanwhile, Sony announced a new stage for the brawler, called Dojo. It's where Sony mascot Parappa the Rapper first acquired his martial arts skills from Chop Chop Master Onion. This stage is showcased in the character trailers below.
