Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice delayed until next year
The lost viking.
Ninja Theory's upcoming viking action game about mental disorders, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, has been pushed back to 2017.
The developer noted in an update video that the studio had a project cancelled earlier this year and that negatively affected the team's progress. Furthermore, Ninja theory took time away to collaborate with Epic Games on some truly stunning motion-capture technology, some of which will be used in Hellblade.
Ninja Theory further stated that it's developing Hellblade independently of a publisher to assume more creative control over this more intimate, personal project. As such, it can take its time in really getting it right before shipping.
The good news is Hellblade has seemingly improved a lot in the intervening months.
You can see how Hellblade is shaping up in the development diary above.
