Here are the best bits of PAX Online x EGX Digital so far
A magician, two legends, and a man with a really great beard walk into an exhibition centre. It's closed, so they stream videos online instead.
For reasons that I'm sure are obvious, we couldn't run EGX this year. It is a great sadness to everyone, but world events have encouraged us to give online events a go. Thus, PAX Online x EGX Digital was born. If you've missed what's been going on since Saturday, please check out this brief rundown of the biggest panels and news.
Kicking the whole event off was a special chat with Mike Pondsmith, a man with one of the coolest voices on the planet. He's also the creator of Cyberpunk 2020 and co-creator of Cyberpunk 2077. For a real inside look at all things Cyberpunk, this is a great way to spend 30 minutes and then spend the rest of eternity being embarrassed about how awful your voice sounds in comparison.
Gearbox also stopped by (read: sent over a nicely prepared video) to talk in detail about Borderlands 3 and reveal some big news. We half expected Randy Pitchford to appear out of a magician's hat, but for better or worse, it wasn't to be. He did, however, conjure some big news. Abracadabra! Borderlands 3 is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S with some improvements. Get all the news in the video below or by reading this informative article right here on Eurogamer.
PAX and EGX aren't just about video games themselves. If you've attended any of our events you'll know that we also like to feature the culture and people that grow around them. Mega64 is one such group, and they've been making hilarious videos for the last two decades. The team decided they would run down some of their favourite videos in this panel made exclusively for PAX Online x EGX Digital.
Next up we've got a look at two fabulous-looking indie titles. Haven, from The Game Bakers (Furi), is a beautiful RPG adventure about love and freedom. You'll be able to play solo or in co-op, and the devs were on hand to give us a guided tour of the game. Check it out below.
If you're a fan of gorgeous artwork and adventure games with a dose of puzzle-solving, Tohu from The Irregular Corporation is one to keep an eye on. We got given a lengthy gameplay demo that's well worth checking out. Maybe one to add to your wishlist.
Elsewhere on Eurogamer you can find Ian geeking out when talking to Agent 47 himself, David Bateson. While fans would no doubt have enjoyed meeting David in person at EGX, it's great to have had him as part of PAX Online X EGX Digital. Former Eurogamer Johnny put down his dice and D&D rulebook for a moment to jump back into the video game fold for a very special PAX Online x EGX Digital video with Arkane Studios. With 20 years of games to talk about, you might want to get a nice hot drink ready and get comfy.
Finally, our friends at Rock Paper Shotgun got to talk to the living legend, Sid Meier. The creator of Civilization spoke with RPS' Nate Crowley for almost an hour and we'd have gladly listened for longer, such is Sid's ability to tell stories about his life in video games. Check it out below as it's truly one of the highlights of the entire show.
That lot should keep you entertained for a good while, but the PAX Online x EGX Digital train isn't stopping just yet. With the event running through to the end of Sunday you can expect more on Eurogamer in the coming days (One such event being the Eurogamer video team analysing the PS5 Showcase from 8:45 pm BST).
PAX x EGX, which is operated by our parent company ReedPop, is running all week, concludes on Sunday 20th September and is completely free. Check out the full livestream schedule and the virtual show floor for more.
