Infinity Ward: Gamertag-locked MW3 COD Elite maps "unintentional"
Piazza relief.
Those Modern Warfare 3 maps released for Call of Duty Elite subscribers aren't supposed to be locked to one Xbox 360 Gamertag per console.
No, no, no, this is "unintentional", developer Infinity Ward clarified. And a fix will be issued "as soon as possible".
"We understand that Elite premium members on Xbox Live who purchased the latest DLC content drop for Modern Warfare 3 are unable to access that content while signed into other profiles on the same console that originally downloaded the content," Infinity Ward's ubiquitous Robert Bowling told Joystiq.
"This is unintentional and we will work to get an update out as soon as possible that corrects this issue and allows you to continue to enjoy the new maps."
The issue came to light yesterday, after Call of Duty Elite subscribers noticed that access to the maps was restricted to a single Xbox 360 Gamertag despite the download terms of usage stating otherwise.
The maps - Liberation and Piazza - can be played in split-screen providing the session-leading Gamertag is the one granted access to them.
