iPad owners less likely to buy consoles

27% won't get console too, 38% handhelds.

27 per cent of iPad owners in a recent study said they no longer planned to buy a home games console having bought the Apple tablet.

According to Resolve Market Research, in a study described on Mashable, 38 per cent said they had no need for a portable gaming device once they had an iPad.

Interestingly, 60 per cent had said that they thought portable gaming devices were "most enjoyable for playing games", followed by 23 per cent for iPad and 8 per cent for smartphones.

Apple recently announced that it had sold three million iPads within 80 days of launch.
