Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson added to Assassin's Creed cast
As Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard's dads.
Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson are now slated to appear opposite Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard in the Assassin's Creed movie.
As reported by Deadline, Irons and Gleeson play the fathers of Cotillard and Fassbender respectively.
Irons won an Academy Award for his leading role in Reversal of Fortune back in 1990 and he also starred in David Cronenberg's 1988 cult classic Dead Ringers.
Brendan Gleeson co-starred in In Bruges and played Alastor 'Mad-Eye' Moody in the Harry Potter films. He also co-starred in 28 Days Later and played the fat older badass guy in pretty much every movie ever.
It's certainly an impressive cast for a movie based on a video game series, but it's also a video game series that's sold over 91m copies, so it certainly has some sway in tinseltown.
The film is being directed by Justin Kurzel, who recently worked with Fassbender and Cotillard in Macbeth after making his 2011 feature debut The Snowtown Murders about a 16-year-old killer.
The Assassin's Creed movie is due on 21st December 2016.
