Would be a first for a Western dev.

Kinect game The Gunstringer may be an Xbox Live Arcade release - a first for a Western developer.

Joystiq spotted (and captured a picture of) the game on Xbox.com categorised as an Arcade title - a listing now removed.

Mind you, Twisted Pixel's last two games - Comic Jumper and Splosion Man - were both XBLA releases, so perhaps the writing is already on the wall.

The Gunstringer, announced only this month, is a wacky puppeteer Western for two players.

"The Gunstringer is a Kinect game where you get to marionette a kick-ass undead cowboy puppet through action packed stage performances. Everything is set as if it's an actual play performance, complete with hand crafted 'actors' and props," Twisted Pixel promised.

"Through a bunch of on stage performances, you get to marionette the Gunstringer through an awesome western themed revenge story filled with action, drama, and mildly creepy puppet love."

At the Tokyo Game Show last year, Microsoft revealed a handful of Japanese-made Kinect games for Xbox Live Arcade. Among those announced were Suda51's Shadow of the Damned, Treasure's Radiant Silvergun and Masaya Matsuura's Haunt.

Probably not coming to PS3 or Wii then.
