ORIGINAL STORY 7am: Square Enix has delayed Kingdom Hearts 3 to early 2019. It was due out later in 2018.
That's the bad news. The good news is the long-awaited Disney / Final Fantasy cross-over RPG finally has a firm release date: 29th January 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Director Tetsuya Nomura issued a statement on the delay, apologising while pointing to Square Enix's upcoming E3 media briefing:
"We've announced the release day for Kingdom Hearts 3 ahead of E3 at the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra - World Tour-. I'm sorry that we're asking for a little more time than initially planned. Please look forward to other information, including a few trailers at E3. Thank you."
That's that, then. Expect to see more of Kingdom Hearts 3 during Square Enix's E3 media briefing, which kicks off 6pm UK time on Monday 11th June.
