Kojima doesn't care about HD

Wii, on the other hand, he likes.

Hideo Kojima isn't bothered about high definition gaming, arguing that Metal Gear Solid games "tend not to care about how clean the screen looks".

Speaking to GamePro recently, in excerpts scanned and immortalised by by, er, Sling's Sarcastic Crapland, Kojima said, "We're not the ones who are saying we want HD. I'm not interested, myself, about HD at all." He added: "[In MGS] we deliberately make the graphics look dirtier to give the atmosphere more life."

What he is interested in, though, is Nintendo Wii. But much like fellow Japanese developer Treasure, he's bound to his current work before he can hop on board Nintendo's revolution. "I want to do it," he tells GamePro. "I'm saying this everyday. But first, I have to face this giant that is called Metal Gear Solid 4, so until I'm finished with that, I can't do anything."

Shame. For more on Metal Gear Solid 4 (whatever that is), check out our Tokyo Game Show preview.
