Kojima's making an adventure game
Japanese collaborator spills the beans.
Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima is working on an adventure game, says collaborator Chiyomaru Shikura - boss of Japanese media company 5pb.
He told 4Gamer (via Kotaku) that Kojima's new game will be the third entry in "a conceptual science series". Which series could he mean?
"The meaning of why I am personally connected to this project is that this is the third entry in a conceptual science series," said Shikura. "And that it is a project with Kojima."
"Kojima told me that he wanted to make an adventure game. We're at the still stage where we need to go to a secluded spot in the mountains and hash this project out, and thus, we don't have any of the minute details hammered out."
Kojima was pictured with Shikura and No More Heroes creator Goichi Suda earlier this year, shaking hands and smiling. Suda's role in the project wasn't mentioned.
Shikura's 5pb has found success porting erotic games and dating simulations. All Kojima has said is that his next game will "challenge a certain type of taboo".
Kojima's most recent project was of course Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker on PSP. Oli Welsh reviewed the game for Eurogamer.
