Review | Final Fantasy Type-0 HD review
Might and magitek.
When the Khmer Rouge took control of Cambodia in the mid-70s, the term 'Year Zero' was coined to describe the idea of revolutionary change. Existing traditions would be thrown away, and a new culture would be established. Type-0 similarly alludes to a fresh start: the idea behind the original PSP game, released four years ago in Japan, was to hit the reset button on the Final Fantasy series and begin anew.

Digital Foundry | Face-Off: Battlefield Hardline
Any cop?
Visceral Games' cops-and-robbers shooter may bear many similarities to its predecessor in its core tech, but Battlefield Hardline's single-player shows a key change to how PS4 and Xbox One performance stacks up. While our multiplayer analysis suggested only conservative tweaks to DICE's engine, the solo play brings out some different results in frame-rate metrics - for better and worse. Testing both console editions in identical scenes, the clear advantage once held by Sony's platform with Frostbite 3 is no longer a resolute one, though its raw pixel-count remains an advantage.

Review | Cities: Skylines review
We built this city.
Bodies are piling up everywhere. My city of Buttingham begins to convulse with disease as its infrastructure fails to keep it running. I build cemeteries and crematoria on every block, but it's not enough. The damage is done. In a few weeks, everyone is dead, my buildings either abandoned or burning, and I've got to admit failure as my budget spirals out of control. My frustration mounts as I realise that the failure isn't my fault.

Feature | Carmageddon: Reincarnation is still a bit of a mess - although it is a glorious one
Engine troubles.

With Carmageddon 2 I think this took about five seconds, although I was a teenager at the time. I'm still waiting for TDR 2000 to give me a giggle. Carmageddon: Reincarnation was possibly even faster than 2 at forcing me to curl protectively around my own jiggling diaphragm, although I'm not entirely sure it was intentional.
