Electronic Arts' E3 conference brought news that the Battlefield Hardline beta is live on both PC and PS4 today, along with early footage from Mass Effect 4 and new IP from BioWare's Edmonton studio. There were also updates on Mirror's Edge 2 and plenty of other titles, including EA Sports PGA Tour with its loony new battleship-based course.

Microsoft is making another Crackdown game. This one's just called Crackdown, by the looks of it, and development's being handled by Dave Jones and - apparently - the Dundee-based firm Cloudgine. Jones created the first game in the series back at Realtime Worlds.

It's all over! There were games galore in Microsoft's rammed E3 conference, including confirmation of the Halo Master Chief Collection for Xbox One, featuring Halos 1-4 - with a remastered Halo 2 in time for its 10-year anniversary - and beta access for Halo 5. We also heard about new Crackdown, a PlatinumGames exclusive called Scalebound and loads of other stuff.

UPDATE: First single-player add-on a timed exclusive. More new footage.
UPDATE #2: EA demonstrated a High Dragon battle in Dragon Age: Inquisition live on its conference stage. The purpose was to show choice; you can either steam in and fight in real-time, swapping between characters on the fly, or you can choose a top-down tactical view and issue orders that way. We didn't see this in action.
