Video | Watch us play South Park: The Stick of Truth from 5pm GMT
Cartman blanche.
Oh my god, Obsidian made a game that wasn't a 7/10! As much as I love the studio behind such unpolished gems as Alpha Protocol and Fallout: New Vegas, I'm as pleasantly surprised as anybody that South Park: The Stick of Truth delivers the goods. True, it's a little shaky in places, but its got it where it counts: namely, it's the perfect vessel for the free-wheeling, foul-mouthed humour of the long-running TV series.

Why 2014 FIFA World Cup is skipping PS4 and Xbox One
"Were we to have fixated on those we would have alienated the host nation - which wouldn't have been wise."
2014 FIFA World Cup is skipping the new generation of consoles, opting instead for a full-priced boxed product on Xbox 360 and PS3, to ensure the game can reach as broad an audience as possible, EA Sports has said.

How 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is justifying its full-fat price tag
After the disappointing UEFA Euro 2012, EA Sports is out to prove a point with its latest tie-in.
Expectation is always the killer when the World Cup swings around. For England it is, at least, though the near-impossible task of escaping a group that features heavy-hitters Italy and Uruguay means that, for once, hopes for success at the summer's tournament are sensibly muted. On the back of a lacklustre showing with UEFA Euro 2012 - one of the few blots on the otherwise remarkable reputation EA Sports' football series has built up over the past generation - expectations are understandably dim for FIFA's next big ticket tie-in, too. Charging a premium amount for the FIFA 12 tie-in was one thing - only bothering to licence half the teams and not tinkering with the fundamentals in any way was quite another.

UPDATE 2.30PM GMT: Multiplayer was a possibility when I visited the studio - having multiple people trying to survive on Mars at the same time. But it sounds like it may not make it in. "We are experimenting with multiplayer at the moment, though at this point it is most likely that it will not feature in the game. I hope that with further experimentation this changes," wrote project lead Martin Melicharek on the Bohemia forum.

Unlicensed SNES game Super 3D Noah's Ark to be reprinted
On SNES. For $65. No, really.
Christian-themed first-person shooter Super 3D Noah's Ark remains to this day the only SNES game commercially released in the US that wasn't sanctioned by Nintendo. Adding to its already bizarre legend, developer Wisdom Tree - who incidentally made a whole series of awful, unlicensed bible games - is re-releasing Super 3D Noah's Ark on, get this, the actual SNES. No Virtual Console for these folks!

Review | Shadowrun: Dragonfall review
Nuyen improved.
Shadowrun Returns was a frustrating game for me. I wanted to love it but didn't even like it - not much, anyway. Its original campaign ranks as one of my bigger disappointments in recent years, feeling more like a Neverwinter Nights-style glorified engine demo than a game in its own right; its title ultimately sounded like a promise that one day Shadowrun might Return, even if it took the fans breaking open the included editor and Steam Workshop functionality to make it happen. Your mileage on this may vary, and if you dug its Dead Man's Switch campaign, great. I know, however, that I'm not alone in having been deeply underwhelmed.
