For "additional development".
It's the press release that keeps on giving (and that I keep on failing to understand - perhaps I'll get the dates right on this one): Take Two's Q1 financial statement also clarifies release periods for various of the company's big upcoming games.

Review | Xbox Live Arcade Roundup
Bliss Island and Brain Challenge.
With that Wii-chasing price drop now confirmed, it's clear that Microsoft is aiming its 360 Arcade package right between the eyes of the family market. No doubt some are already clenching their fists and scowling about casual gamers and how they're ruining games and grumble grumble swear. Personally, I couldn't give a toss about the bane of casual games. Pretty much all the early classics of gaming, the basic templates of which are still in use, were casual by definition. I mean, imagine people wanting to play games just for fun. The fools!

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 night vision trailer
EGTV Exclusive: Sexy alternative to carrots.
Sniping, eh? We've all done it. Well, virtually none us have done it, but if we had then we would have wanted night vision goggles, because then we could have done it after work in the dark rather than having to try and fit it in at lunchtime. Night vision is back in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and you can see why it's so influential in our exclusive Night Vision Eurogamer TV trailer - one of the key reasons being that you can combine it with a rifle scope.

Review | Talkman
Non merci.
The idea behind TalkMan is a great one. Imagine if you could carry a translator around with you on holiday, so you didn't have to spend ages flicking through phrase books, working out correct pronunciations, or SHOUTING VERY SLOWLY AT FOR-EIGN-ERS. Your PSP would always be there to help you order a sandwich, chat up a lady/gentleman, or explain to a doctor that your leg doesn't normally bend that way - whatever the situation, you'd never be at a loss for words.

Review | Bully: Scholarship Edition
Kissed the boys and made 'em cry. Except now on Wii.
So far, multiplatform games have not had a good time on the Wii, and neither have ports. Shoehorned-in motion controls and poor, unoptimised graphics tend to doom them to mediocrity or worse; the best games on the system have invariably been designed for it from the ground up, with the exception of Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition.

Review | Heavy Weapon: Atomic Tank
Retro evolved.
Having waded thigh deep in an unusually fierce torrent of retro sludge for the past couple of weeks (40 odd via PSP arcade compilations, 38 via Wii Virtual Console and another couple on Xbox Live Arcade), it's understandable that I've come away from the experienced slightly scarred. The past is a nice place to visit at this time of the year, but, like a bumbling old relative, you can only spend so much time in its company before wanting to pop your eyes out with a spoon.
