Wishlisted | Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo puts a playful spin on Link's Awakening
No strings attached.
Every time I come to play Link's Awakening, there's one moment I always look forward to: getting Roc's Feather. That first dungeon treasure can never come soon enough, as it's the all-important item that lets Link jump about like he's suddenly grown a pair of kangaroo legs. It's oddly freeing in many ways - not just as a traversal tool, but the feel of it - the glide, the airtime, the speed - is just so perfectly engineered to give you pitch-perfect control over Link's movements.

"Thank you for your patience and understanding."
You know how humans will sometimes say "Well, there's good news and there's bad news"? And you know how that clues you in on there being good news as well as bad news so that you wait until you have the whole picture before you start rending garments and gnashing teeth and shaking your fist at the skies? Well, that's not how Nintendo handles emails about ceasing support for its freemium mobile game, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

VR Corner | If you thought Hitman 3 VR was bad on PC just wait until you see Hitman 3 VR Reloaded in action
It's the pits, man.
As a slight disclaimer before I kick off the kicking, these first impressions are based on 90 minutes of playing the retail version of Hitman 3 VR Reloaded on launch day. Apparently a big patch will be releasing on the 9th September that is said to address a lot of the issues that I had with the game. But I'll never know because I'll be damned if I ever put my face inside this nightmare again...

Schmuck Tales.

Eurogamer 25 | How playing together has changed since 1999
From Quake to Fortnite.
Around the time Eurogamer launched, I was temping at an insurance office in Bournemouth, and I had a temping lunch break pal called Ken who I'm invoking now for two reasons. Firstly, Ken was the first person I spoke to who ever talked about "net anxiety" - the worry that one should be off making their fortune on the new frontiers of the internet. Secondly, he was the first person I met who played games online. Actual games. There was a driving game he liked, and I think he dabbled in a few shooters. It was like alchemy to me. It was like knowing - and having lunch with - an actual wizard.

Eurogamer 25 | Your memories of Eurogamer have warmed us to our core
Thank you.
I think there's a hope we all have on the Eurogamer team that the things we do here, the articles we write or the videos we record, will mean something to the people who watch or read them. They don't have to elicit a ground-shaking reaction; it might simply be enough to make someone giggle with a wonderfully rubbish strapline - or to impress them with a genuinely clever one (have we ever had one of those?). Whatever it is we're trying to do - to inform you, to entertain you, to tell you a story - I think I speak for all of us here when I say there's a deep-seated hope it'll resonate enough to be memorable. And what you've done by responding to the 'memories of Eurogamer' piece in such abundance proves that yes, overwhelmingly, that happens, and I can't tell you how much that means to see. Thank you.
