    Fox Interactive sent word that their hit 3D platform game sequel, Croc 2, will be appearing on the PC at the end of next month, featuring a two player "OmniPlay" mode, new bosses including "Cannon Boat Keith" (no, really), and a trader by the name of "Swap Meet Pete". Sadly his name won't be localised to "Car Boot Sale Dale" for the UK release of the game...

    Earlier this week Aureal announced that most of their senior management had quit the company en masse. Today Tech Extreme have interviewed Aureal's Product Manager, talking mostly about the latest version of A3D and its development. There's almost nothing about the company's current problems (apparently he can't talk about that yet), but Tech Extreme are promising a follow-up interview with more information about what the future holds (if anything) for Aureal.

    John Carmack, lead programmer over at id Software updated his .plan with his memories of Seumas McNally, the talented lead programmer over at Longbow Digital Arts who tragically passed away about a week ago. John met him through the Startlight Foundation, an organization that tries to grant wishes to seriously ill kids. Be sure to check out GameDev's.com memorial article which is a VERY good read.

    According to this story over on The Register, Intel's recently announced 1GHz Pentium III processor are still in very limited supply, and they are "initially working with customers that can provide the biggest impact in the consumer enthusiast segment at launch". What does this mean in practice? You won't see a boxed P3-1GHz in the shops until some time this summer ("third quarter" in marketing speak), and most system builders won't get any until then either!

    The most violent game ever, with out blood? According to a news blurb over at Avault a bloodless edition of this extremely violent game will be released by Activision soon. So expect two versions on the shelves, one regular (with all the blood and gore) and the "tactical" version (with no violence at all).
