Here at EuroGamer we've just posted our second batch of eight exclusive new screenshots of "Soldier", a third person shooter based on the Kurt Russell sci-fi movie of the same name. Again, the screenshots were taken at 1024x768 in 32 bit colour with full-scene anti-aliasing enabled on a GeForce 2 graphics card to give you the best possible visual quality. Expect another batch of shots next week, as well as a full hands-on preview of the game soon!

A new version of the popular server browser "GameSpy 3D" is now available, adding support for the Sanity multiplayer beta test, as well as such great games (ahem) as Buckmasters Deer Hunting, High Impact Paintball, LaserArena, RallyMasters and Wild Wings. The new version can also integrate with ICQ to automatically set your "away" message to let your friends know where you are playing, and compresses server lists to make them download (and therefore update) quicker.

More information on the prizes available at the CPL's coming tournaments in Dallas is now available on the CPL website. The Frag 4 team-play event will be primarily sponsored by Heat.net, with a top prize of $8,000 (to be split between the winning four man team), with $4,000 for the runners-up and $2,000 for the third place team. There will also be a special $800 prize for the "most valuable player" - a kind of "man of the match" thing.

While we are still waiting for the game to even be released here in Europe, the SDK toolkit for "Vampire : The Masquerade" is already in testing at Activision and is expected to be released by "Friday at the latest", according to this post on the message boards of developer Nihilistic.

The team behind the excellent squad action game Evolva have formed their own game development studio called Synaptic Soup. The co-founders include Vince Farquharson (lead designer), Rik Heywood (lead programmer) and Karl Wickens (lead artist), and their first project is apparently already "well under way".
