Its not often a humble promotional movie makes it into the news here at Eurogamer but this one is amazing. I have been a fan of Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix series for some time, and have been awaiting his new title Grand Prix 3 for some time. Well to be honest it looks great, the screen shots that have been released for GP3 have been amazing. Some of them have looked like they were almost real life race shots.

The American print magazine PC Gamer has published an interview with Mike Stemmle and Sean Clark, the project leaders of Escape from Monkey Island. The interview contains some new information, for example that the game contains about 60 speaking characters. Full details of the UK qualifier for the first CPL-Europe Quake 3 tournament, the "Scandinavian Open", are now available. The qualifier is taking place on July 2nd at The Playing Fields in London, with £1000 in cash prizes up for grabs, and the winner will also get a free flight to Stockholm to take part in CPL-Europe's $25,000 tournament in August.

Our massive UK release date list has been updated with the latest information from Electronic Arts, UbiSoft and Virgin Interactive. Three new titles are now on our list - FA Premier League Stars 2001 (August 11th), Star Trek : New Worlds (August 25th), and Baldur's Gate 2 (September 15th). We also have updated release information for several other titles, including War Torn and Dino Crisis, which have both moved to July 14th.

3DO Europe have announced that "Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball", apparently described by PC Gamer USA as "the best baseball game ever", will be released in Europe on June 30th, priced at just £20 in the UK. The game features a whole range of single player options including practice, season and career modes, as well as letting you play over the internet or a LAN. for the CPL's forthcoming American events, which was due to open today, has had to be delayed for a few days due to technical problems with their new registration system. The new plan is to begin registrations at 3pm Central Time (that's 9pm UK time, 10pm in Europe) on Thursday, and you will be able to register for both Frag 4 and the Babbages CPL event with one fell swoop.
