Lego City Undercover is getting a Nintendo Switch port
Also coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
The much-loved Lego City Undercover is getting a Nintendo Switch port.
Originally launched as a Wii U-exclusive, the TT Games-made open world will also launch for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. All versions will arrive in spring 2017.
This makes Lego City Undercover one of the first third-party games confirmed for Nintendo's upcoming console.
It's also a great move to see the underappreciated Lego City Undercover getting a wider audience.
The game stars Lego cop Chase McCain in a warm send-up of police TV shows and the open world genre. It also explains why Chase was announced over the summer as being headed to toys-to-life crossover game Lego Dimensions - also next year.
Eurogamer's review pointed out that Undercover was a great indicator of how TT Games has grown as a developer - and no longer needed a big-budget movie franchise to base its work around.
"It may not have a big-name sci-fi or fantasy licence to hang its hat on, then," Tom Bramwell wrote in our sparkling Lego City Undercover review, "but it turns out Traveller's Tales has itself been working undercover for a while on that front, lurking behind the smokescreens of Gotham City and the galaxy far away as it evolved into an accomplished developer capable of charming players with a mixture of great writing, twinkling level design and laudable values that keep you coming back regardless."
