Life is Strange 2's long-awaited third episode gets a new trailer ahead of release
Out next week on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
It's been almost four months since Life is Strange 2's second episode arrived, but now, finally, Episode 3 is on the cusp of release. As previously announced, it comes to Xbox One, PS4, and PC on 9th May, and developer Dontnod has released a brand-new trailer to celebrate.
Life is Strange 2 focusses its attention on new protagonists Sean and Daniel Diaz, two brothers forced to go on the run following a tragic accident, and Episode 3 (titled Wastelands) sees the pair, still on their journey to Mexico, falling in with a community of drifters among the redwood forests of California. We're well into the story arc by now, of course, so you probably want to give the latest trailer a miss if you're still not up-to-date.
Once Episode 3 is out the way, there's another long wait for the season's two remaining episodes. Part four is scheduled to arrive on 22nd August this year, while the fifth and final episode won't see the light of day until 3rd December.
Another eight months until the story's conclusion isn't ideal, but as Dontnod explained of its release schedule last year, "The Life is Strange series is a project close to all of our hearts and one for which we do not want to rush development and thereby fail to meet the benchmark of quality and emotional impact that you, our players, deserve."
Life is Strange 2's first episode debuted last September, and was generally well-received - despite this second season jettisoning fan-favourite characters Chloe and Max, whose story formed the foundation for the first Life is Strange and its prequel Before the Storm.
