From Monday, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy players on PS4 can enter the code (↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → square) in the Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped title screen to watch the Spyro Reignited Trilogy trailer, which is a nice nostalgic touch.

Tom Kenny, the original voice actor in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon, has returned as the voice of Spyro for the remaster.

Here's the official blurb:

"Remade from the ground up by lead developer Toys for Bob, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy features the fun and nostalgic gameplay that fans remember with more than 100 levels, enhanced reward sequences, Spyro's gang of zany dragons and other goofballs (including Sparx the Dragonfly, Hunter, Sheila, Agent 9 and Sgt. Byrd) and more. The trilogy also includes improved environments, updated controls, brand-new lighting and recreated cinematics for added flavour in this one-of-a-kind adventure."

UPDATE 10.30am: Screenshots from the Spyro Reignited Trilogy have now popped up online as well - and, thankfully, they look a whole lot better than the compilation's cover art. Let's take a look:

Here's one fan's comparison, showing the remaster alongside the original:

We're expecting Activision to make Spyro's return official very soon.

ORIGINAL STORY 8.45am: Amazon Mexico has listed the long, long-rumoured Spyro trilogy remaster for release on PlayStation 4.

Named the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, the game's product page comes with a 21st September 2018 release date and some eye-opening box art.

Poor Spyro. It's not his best look.

The listing confirms the trilogy will feature Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! and Spyro: Year of the Dragon remastered in HD and improved controls.

Its price is 737 pesos, which equates to £29.

Skylanders studio Toys For Bob is listed on the box as the game's developer. The same team is currently porting the hugely popular Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which launched around the same time for PS4 last year, to Nintendo Switch. (There's also no sign of any new Skylanders game in development for them to be working on.)

Despite numerous leaks, internet rumours and teases, Activision is still to rubber stamp Spyro's return. But thankfully, with today's product listing, it feels like it'll all be over soon.
