Mario Sports Mix dated
Plumber limbers up for February launch.
Mario Sports Mix will leave the locker room on 4th February in Europe and 7th February in the US, Nintendo has confirmed.
Developed by Square Enix, the Wii title sees various Mushroom Kingdom staples and a handful of Final Fantasy interlopers going toe-to-toe in four different events: hockey, basketball, volleyball or dodgeball.
There's four-way multiplayer too, via split-screen or online. You'll need to trade friend codes to play with buddies but you can also match-up anonymously against strangers.
Last time Nintendo handed Square Enix the reins for a Mario spin-off things didn't work out too brightly. Madcap DS basketball throwdown Mario Hoops 3-on-3 scored a middling 6/10 back in 2006.
