Mass Effect Andromeda includes Easter egg from very familiar character
Spoilers!
Mass Effect Andromeda is a brand new start for the series - but developer BioWare is including plenty of Easter eggs for fans of the original trilogy.
Yesterday's video from IGN which tours the Citadel-like Nexus space station includes one such treat for long-time fans.
If you'd rather uncover it for yourself - well, this is your final warning.
Spoilers may follow:
Exploring your father's quarters, main character Ryder can hear an audio log from Liara T'Soni, Shepard's asari squadmate and potential love interest.
The log is part of Alec Ryder's research into extinct species - something on which Liara is an expert. You can hear a snippet at the 2:40 mark below:
Andromeda takes place some 600 years after Mass Effect 3, although the expedition to another galaxy actually leaves just beforehand - so there's plenty of time for Liara and your father to have been in contact. (Liara had been researching Protheans for more than 50 years before she hooked up with Shepard and co.)
Liara isn't the first returning character to be lending their voice to Andromeda, either - helpful Avina is back to guide you around the Nexus, too.
And just yesterday BioWare teased mention of a fan-favourite alien race not in Andromeda - but whose mention might signal their inclusion in the future.
