Massive Call of Duty datamine reveals Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered art and a whole lot more
Payload.
A massive Call of Duty datamine has leaked a raft of details about Activision's upcoming plans for Modern Warfare and Warzone, as well as the unannounced Modern Warfare 2 remaster.
Notorious Call of Duty leaker Senescallo, who revealed accurate Warzone details ahead of time, took to Reddit to dump information revealed by this week's update for Modern Warfare and Warzone.
The highlight here is art for Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, as well as information on how it will be sold. It sounds like you can buy it standalone, or buy it from within Modern Warfare 2019.
According to Senescallo's post, if you buy Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, you get the Underwater Demo Team Classic Ghost Bundle. Or, you can buy the Ghost Pack: Oil Rig Bundle for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to receive Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, as well as a legendary skin for Ghost, a legendary weapon blueprint for the M4A1 assault rifle (the classic M4A1), a legendary weapon blueprint for the 1911 pistol, a rare weapon charm, an epic finishing move and epic operator quip for Ghost, an epic animated calling card, a rare Ghost emblem, and battle pass tier skips. The Ghost Pack supposedly costs 10,000 COD Points, which is surely a placeholder amount as that's around £65.
It's starting to feel like the Modern Warfare 2 Campaign remaster is right around the corner, after it was spotted on video game age-rating boards recently. But what about multiplayer? The current speculation is Modern Warfare 2 maps will be added to Modern Warfare 2019 to avoid splitting the community. If this is true, there is no direct remaster of Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer, as there was with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare's multiplayer with the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered back in 2017.
Back to the datamine, and there's information on Modern Warfare's upcoming third season, with two new maps revealed: Backlot (from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare):
And Village (from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3):
Two new weapons are revealed: the SKS sniper rifle, and the Renetti pistol. Two new operators are mentioned: Alex (presumably Alex from the Modern Warfare 2019 campaign) and Ronin.
Onto Warzone, and the datamine reveals upcoming playlists, including duos, quads, High Action ("Loot and Kill. The Gas closes in faster, so get moving."), Shotty Snipers ("Shotguns and snipers only. Near? Far? Wherever... BR. There are no loadout drops."), One Shot ("Battle Royale with 1-shot headshots and no loadout drops."), Realism Battle Royale, and Hardcore Battle Royale.
And here's an interesting one: Creator Codes. "Support your favourite Call of Duty creator with your in-game purchases. Creators will receive a portion of each purchase made using their code. This code will expire after 14 days. Enter the creator code below."
So, all in all we have a significant Call of Duty leak courtesy of a datamine, and while none of this information is set in stone (things change right up to the last minute in video game development), we've got a good idea of what's coming, and a clear sense that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is right around the corner.
