UPDATE: Microsoft has confirmed Rare Replay for Xbox One, due out 4th August 2015.
The collection includes 30 games, such as RC Pro-Am, Perfect Dark and Banjo-Kazooie. There are new challenges for over 10000 points of Gamerscore. Rare Replay costs an eye-catching £19.99.
ORIGINAL STORY: There's now enough evidence to believe Microsoft will release a collection of Rare games for Xbox One to honour the studio's 30th anniversary.
Kotaku was sent an image of the collection, titled RareReplay, as seen in GameStop's database. The site said it backed up something it had heard a while ago - as had we.
Kotaku heard the collection will feature up to 30 games including Battletoads, Jet Force Gemini, Banjo Kazooie - and possibly Perfect Dark, Kameo (oh what really) and Blast Corps as well.
Rare is also apparently working on another Xbox One game as well.
Rare is an old British developer that lost its way under Microsoft, excluding Viva Pinata, and is better known these days for Kinect Sports. We dug into the studio's history and wrote an article titled Who Killed Rare? a couple of years ago.
However, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has gone on the record as saying "I don't want the Rare brand to mean Kinect Sports". He also wore a Battletoads t-shirt during a public Windows appearance, which tends to infer some meaning.
Microsoft's E3 conference happens under two hours from now, at 5.30 UK time (BST). Not long until we find out.
What about you, which Rare games would you like to see in a collection for Xbox One - or, even, returned to wholesale? Or has the ship sailed? Is it to teams like Playtonic, made of up former Rare staff, that we should look instead?
