Mighty No. 9 confirmed for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U

Needs another $1.1 million for Xbox One and PS4 stretch goal.

Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune's spiritual successor to the blue bomber, Mighty No. 9, will be coming to PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U after all, following its $2.2 million Kickstarter stretch goal.

Due circa April 2015, this current-gen console port will join its already announced PC, Mac and Linux brethren.

You may wonder about next gen consoles, given the project's far-off release window, and developer Comcept has confirmed that it will make a PS4 and Xbox One port should the crowdfunding campaign reach $3.3 million. This is looking likely as Mighty No. 9 has already acquired $2,225,994 in 17 days and it still has 14 to go before its 1st October deadline.

Along the way there are other stretch goals for an extra stage and boss fight at $2.55 million and an online co-op challenge mode at $2.75 million.

For more information on Mighty No. 9, I spoke to Inafune about his vision for this retro throwback, which he maintains is more than simply Mega Man in a new suit.
