Mileena has one of the goriest Fatal Blows in Mortal Kombat 11

RIP.

Okay. Let's get this out of the way: the Mortal Kombat 11 Mileena gameplay video is not for the faint of heart. I mean, all the Mortal Kombat 11 gameplay videos are not for the faint of heart. But this one... well...

NetherRealm showcased the return of fan-favourite fighter Mileena for the first time. For the uninitiated, Mileena is the product of Shang Tsung's cloning experiments, a fusion of Tarkatan blood and Edenian physiology, making her a sort of Baraka crossed with Kitana character.

In Mortal Kombat 11, she uses her trademark sai to stab stab stab, her sharpened claws to claw claw claw, and her teeth to tear tear tear her enemies apart.

Now onto the gameplay. Mileena looks like the most brutal character in the game. Most of her Krushing Blows look gory enough to be a fatality. She likes ripping her enemy's neck out with her teeth, which is so over the top it made me wince. Another Krushing Blow sees her chuck a sai that sticks in her opponent's shin - another nope from me. One special move sees here press in her enemy's eyes with her thumbs. She's got another move that's like 10 super fast stabs to the face followed by a slow motion stab to the eye. Yum.

And then there's her Fatal Blow, which is just about the goriest in the game. She rips Kitana's neck out with her teeth, chucks two sai through the back of Kitana's head and out of her eyes, then finishes with another neck rip using her bare hands.

After that, Mileena's body-chopping fatality feels kind of tame.

"Brought forward in the timeline by Kronika, Mileena has learned of her tragic future - her brief reign as Outworld's Empress and her death at the hands of D'Vorah and Kotal Kahn," reads the official blurb.

"Determined to regain her throne, Mileena has begun Outworld's civil war anew and will destroy any Kombatants that stand in her way."

Mileena joins the roster as a new playable fighter on 17th November as part of Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate and Kombat Pack 2.
