Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection confirmed
For PC, PSN and XBLA late summer.
UPDATE: Warner has provided Eurogamer with more information on Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection.
"For the first time ever, the original Mortal Kombat arcade trilogy - Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 - have been brought together into a single collection which will be available for download in late summer 2011," the publisher said.
"We are very excited to finally have the first three Mortal Kombat games available in one download package for long-time and new fans to play," said Ed Boon, creative director, NetherRealm Studios. "With the release of our 2011 Mortal Kombat, and its return to 2D game play, players have been asking for these classic titles and we are happy to deliver them."
Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection is developed by Other Ocean in conjunction with NetherRealm studios. It features online play, leaderboards, achievements and trophies.
The "arcade- perfect port" costs 800 Microsoft points or £6.29 on the PlayStation Network or PC.
ORIGINAL STORY: Warner Bros has announced digital game Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection, due out on PC, the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.
Confirmation comes via a Warner tweet: "Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection takes gamers back to the arcades! Iconic arcade games will be available on XBLA, PSN & PC."
Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection has been rumoured for months. Retailer listings suggest it includes Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 all under one roof.
NetherRealm game Mortal Kombat launched last month.
