New Achievements for Gears
Coming in future patch.
Gears of War's next Title-Update-not-patch is also going to have new achievements relating to Annex and the Hidden Fronts downloadable content, Epic Games' Mark Rein said on their forum a couple of days ago. "We're also going to have new achievements relating to Annex and the Hidden Fronts downloadable content," he wrote (see). "Some of the achievements are tied to things relating to playing the maps in the Hidden Fronts map pack which currently costs money but will be made free in a few months," he later clarified.
That's on top of a new approach to the "Roadie Run" move - you know, sprinting - which is outlined in a separate post made by Epic's Rod Fergusson on 13th April (we've learnt our lesson). It aims to solve the problem of players getting accidentally sucked into a cover position when they mean to run past it. "If the player wants to go into cover then they'll have the stick pointing towards it," Fergusson wrote, explaining Epic's solution. "It they want to stay out of cover then they’ll have the control stick pointing away from it."
You can read more about that in Fergusson's original post, while Rein's post can be found through these clicky-words. Last word to him, then: "Of course no title update would be complete without more exploit squashing and the ever-popular 'general housekeeping'." We'll let you know more when we do.
