New Virtua Fighter instalment coming
Complete with at least one new fighter.
SEGA has unveiled a new instalment in the Virtua Fighter series, according to an IGN report.
Footage of the game, titled Virtual Fighter 5 R, was shown at the AOU Amusement Machine Expo in Japan. It featured at least one new character, and some viewers claimed they saw Taka-Arashi from Virtua Fighter 3 in the mix.
Apparently SEGA is billing VF5R as a new "series" within VF5, suggesting it's not just a version update. Nothing else has been announced as yet so there's no word on a release date, but we'll keep you posted.
Hopefully it will continue the VF5 tradition of including pirates and pirate-related costume items, and perhaps a nice brooch.
