New Yakuza 5 details revealed
PlayStation 3 exclusivity confirmed.
Japanese magazines have spilled new Yakuza 5 information.
The game, like previous entries in the series, is a PlayStation 3 exclusive, Famitsu (via Siliconera) reveals.
The story follows on from Yakuza 4 - not zombie-themed spin-off Yakuza of the End.
Kazuma Kiryu, as expected, is the main character. Five locations are included: Tokyo, Fukuoka, Osaka, Sapporo, and Nagoya. Each is described as "large".
The technology powering the game has been improved so that it will seamlessly transition between adventure mode and battles. Loading times have been reduced, the camera has been adjusted, and the character faces have been improved.
Sega announced Yakuza 5 earlier this year, and the formation of Yakuza Studio, headed up by creator Toshihiro Nagoshi.
In August development on Yakuza 5 was described as being at an early stage - Sega had only just decided to make the game.
Yakuza of the End - known as Yakuza: Dead Souls in the West - launches in the UK in March 2012.
