New Zelda to require MotionPlus add-on
That's certainly the plan, says Miyamoto.
Shigeru Miyamoto has confirmed plans to make the new Zelda game playable only with a MotionPlus accessory.
"The goal at this point is that we would make Wii MotionPlus required in order to play Zelda," he told Wired (as reported by Kotaku).
"The bigger hurdle for us is not really whether people have a Wii MotionPlus or don't have it, it's whether or not the experience is one where people will think they want to have a Wii MotionPlus in order to experience it."
The comments echo those made by Miyamoto during his behind-closed-doors presentation at E3, where Mario's Dad showed a piece of concept art for the new game.
"We'd like to make it compatible with Wii MotionPlus," he said back then. "It's quite possible it will be playable only with Wii MotionPlus. The potential for it becoming MotionPlus-only depends of course on how well Wii Sports Resort sells."
Miyamoto is hoping to bring us the new Zelda title next year, but warned: "It may take a little longer."
