Spector working on new Tomb Raider title?

OXM certainly thinks so, but Eidos won't say either way...

Strange rumblings emerged from the US this weekend, concerning the next Tomb Raider title and a certain Warren Spector.

According to an article in the US print edition of Official Xbox Magazine, the game design legend has been given the task of restoring the fortunes of the Lara franchise, following its tragi-comic fall from grace last year under the auspices of Core Design.

We contacted Eidos for clarification, but the powers that be couldn't comment - which is as close to a confirmation as you can get in the absence of an outright denial.

So can Mr Spector restore some of Lara's sparkle? Could we have a more 'choice-oriented' adventure game, with more stealth elements to complement the run and gun? It could be the best thing to happen to the series since Mr Gard departed all those years ago.
