First 'Adventure Pack' for EQ2
Effectively an expansion pack, but it only costs $4.99 and you can get hold of it over the Internet. Get your deerskin sleeping bags ready to camp out.
Sony Online Entertainment plans to release the first "Adventure Pack" for EverQuest II on 21st March, - an e-distributed expansion pack - featuring "countless hours of new content" in a new story-based realm beneath the surface of Norrath. And it sounds like a positively charming place, home to virtually every conceivable flavour of undead. It couldn't just be an underground car park or something.
Called The Bloodline Chronicles, said Adventure Pack will be available for digital download priced $4.99, although one of the expansion's five new areas, the Tombs of Night, will be made available to all for free.
Those who pre-order the pack will gain early access to D'Morte Burial Chambers, maybe even as early as, er, right now, it says here, which contains new items.
Along with the Tombs of Night and D'Morte Burial Chambers, one of the five new areas will be the Crypt of T'Haen, home to the Lost Lord of the Undead ("You're in the Crypt of T'Haen, mate!"). SOE promises "fortune and glory" for the first raid group on each server to defeat T'Haen.
Other Bloodlines content includes new instances for soloists, large and small groups and raids, new enemies including Vampires, Hellhounds, Fleshgoyles and Revenants with similarly themed spells and items, and a dynamic story that sees you allying with either the Brotherhood of Night or the Hand of Marr.
"The Bloodline Chronicles adds some amazing new elements to EverQuest II that could only be done in a major content release, including some exciting new ways to interact with the environment," says Scott Hartsman, senior producer. "With this Adventure Pack, players have the ability to unlock a whole new dynamic storyline in the game based on the alignment of their character."
You can find more information and details on how to pre-order on the expansion's official website.
