THQ has announced that MX vs. ATV Unleashed: On the Edge is currently in development for PC and PSP.
You can expect huge tracks, a vast array of vehicle types and a choice of different racing modes, plus the return of the series' Rhythm Racing physics engine. The PC version will feature an all-new track editor and a multiplayer mode for up to eight opponents, while PSP owners get a wireless multiplayer mode for up to four players.
The game is being developed by Rainbow Studios, whose previous credits include Splashdown, the ATV Offroad Fury series and Motocross Madness. The studio also produced MX vs. ATV Unleashed for PS2 and Xbox earlier this year.
"Rainbow Studios is taking their mastery of the off road genre to new heights, redefining the genre they built for Windows PC and bringing the duel between four wheels and two to the PSP system for the first time," said THQ bigwig Dave Miller.
"Gamers can now build their personalized vision of the ultimate off-road environment on their Windows PC, take it online and race against all challengers."
Rainbow Studios' Scott Novis added: "We're looking forward to bringing the Unleashed experience to the handheld market as well as returning to our off-road development roots on the PC.
"Both titles will possess the unmatched game-play elements that define a Rainbow Studios title and provide exciting new content at the same time."
MX vs. ATV Unleashed: On the Edge is due out in early 2006.
