New colours for Nintendo DS
Four new versions to launch in Japan by the end of April. None quite as cool as Pepsi Blue though, we'd say.
Nintendo DS fans holding off buying because they're nonplussed by the system's Platinum Silver presentation might want to talk to an importer about what's happening in the next couple of months, as Nintendo reveals plans to launch four new coloured versions of the dual-screen handheld by the end of April in Japan.
On 24th March, the platform holder aims to launch Graphite Black and Pure White versions of the console, followed on 21st April by Turquoise Blue and Candy Pink variants. All will be priced the same as the regular Platinum Silver model, in case you were worrying that a bit of paint might up the asking price significantly. You know, like it did with the PS2.
Mind you, to our eyes they're not quite as good-looking as the other version, the limited edition Pepsi Blue DS that we covered recently, which will not be made available for general sale. The only way to get one is to go to Japan, drink lots of Pepsi and get lucky. Or to stand patiently next to eBay with a sign that basically says you'll submit to anything in order to get one. Hey ho.
If you're interested in one of the new colours anyway, you can take a look at some pictures on Game Watch here. If pressed, we'd go for Pure White.
