Vietcong 2 confirmed
Time for a second tour of duty with Pterodon's Nam-based FPS, oh-so-tastefully unveiled to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the war's end.
Almost two years since the first game launched - and just over 30 years since the fall of Saigon and the end of the Vietnam war, history fans - 2K Games has announced a sequel to PC first-person shooter Vietcong.
You can take a look at the first screenshot here.
Vietcong 2 will use a brand new 3D engine and feature new multiplayer modes as well as a single-player campaign, and 2K promises that it will "improve on the acclaimed gameplay of the first game, while presenting a completely new experience."
"There are still hundreds of servers and thousands of gamers playing Vietcong all day, every day," said 2K bigwig Christoph Hartmann.
"With Vietcong 2 we intend to give hardcore fans and newcomers alike an even bigger and better experience."
Vietcong is slated for a release by Christmas.
