Koch Media has signed a deal with BattleBorne Entertainment to publish PC and console shooter Combat Elite: WWII Paratroopers in Europe under its Deep Silver publishing label.

The game was originally down as an Acclaim title, due out in July of last year. But its release was delayed indefinitely after BattleBorne took the publisher to court over alleged contract violations, and even more indefinitely after Acclaim went bust.

Now Koch, which has picked up the game, tells us that the development team hasn't been sitting around for the last year - in fact, they've taken advantage of that extra time to improve the game and fix any problems.

Combat Elite follows the efforts of Allied paratroopers dropped in behind enemy lines to defeat the German war machine from the inside. You can take part in some of the most famous battles of WWII, including D-Day, Operation Market Garden and the defence of Bastogne.

As the game progresses and you rise through the military ranks, you'll get the chance to play with a wide variety of historically accurate weapons and equipment.

Combat Elite: WWII Paratroopers is due out on PC, PS2 and Xbox in the autumn.
