Twilight Princess still on Cube
Nintendo denies Revolution shift.
Nintendo says that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is still due out on GameCube despite rumours to the contrary.
Speaking to Eurogamer this week, Nintendo UK's PR Manager said: "Nintendo has always said that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will appear on Nintendo GameCube and this is still very much the case."
When Nintendo issued a statement in August announcing that Twilight Princess had slipped to 2006, many anticipated a first-quarter release. When the game didn't appear on Nintendo's Q1 release list announced late last week, tongues began to wag (or rather fingers began to patter) and suddenly there was talk of it appearing alongside Revolution instead.
Puzzled by this, one hack took it upon himself to ask Nintendo's quote-o-genic mouthpiece Reggie Fils-Aime about it during last week's Gamers Summit. Fils-Aime reportedly said that he spoke on behalf of both Nintendo president Satoru Iwata and designer Shigeru Miyamoto and that both of them had said they wanted it on GameCube.
So cheer up, GameCube owners. It may not be a Christmas 2005 release, but Nintendo hasn't abandoned you completely.
