Black & White 2 back on map

A new site and new screens proves Lionhead's still willing to monkey around.

Lionhead has launched a new official site and some fresh shots of Black & White 2, the PC strategy sequel that obviously didn't quite make its Q4 2004 slot.

The page now includes an interview with lead designer Ron Millar - in which he ruminates on his vision for the game, additions since the first title, and so on - a "Making Of" feature, a community diary and a Q&A. The only thing that appears to be missing now is a solid release date.

Black & White 2 builds on the God concept of the initial PC bestseller, in which players took control of a fabulous creature and battled with other deities for worshipping rights among islands' populations, and will allow users to wage wars against each other with massed troops.

The game was supposed to release at the end of last year, but Fable's development at a Lionhead satellite studio obviously took precedent, so Black & White 2 is likely to be one of the most talked about games of 2005 instead. We'll have a date soon.
