Get your face in a game
B&W2 or City of the Dead.
Two developers are offering you the chance to get fifteen minutes of fame by appearing in their forthcoming games. All right, so it's not exactly like going on Big Brother, but at least you don't have to live with anyone called 'Science' for 12 weeks.
Head on over to the Black & White 2 website and you can enter a competition to see your face in Lionhead's PC god sim sequel, described as "the best-looking game ever."
All you have to do is prove that you're more excited about B&W2 than anyone else on the planet. Lionhead has suggested various ways of doing this, including drawing some fan art, writing a story or videoing yourself dressed as a giant ape.
We would suggest carving the game's logo into your chest with a stanley knife and then standing outside their office screaming "MOLYNEUX! MOLYNEUX! MOLYNEUX!" until someone calls the police, but since your work must be "appropriate to show" that's probably not a good idea.
If it all sounds like a bit too much effort, why not visit the City of the Dead website instead. All you have to do this time is submit a photo of yourself pulling an angry face, and you could be appearing as a zombie in the forthcoming survival horror shooter.
"We thought this would be a great opportunity for George A. Romero fans to get some 'face time' with one of his titles before the 2006 ship date," said Hip Interactive bigwig Arindra Singh, no doubt chuckling heartily at his excellent joke.
The lucky winner of the B&W2 comp will get to see what Lionhead has done to their face in autumn, while City of the Dead fans have got till early next year to wait before the game is released on PC, PS2 and Xbox.
Oh, and a word of advice: if anyone at a Sony party ever promises you they can "get you in The Getaway" - you guessed it - they're just trying to get off with you. And even if you go out with them for OVER A YEAR it'll still never happen.
