Kojima reveals more of MGS4
Plus new DS and PSP titles.
Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima took to the stage at Konami's E3 press conference to reveal that he's currently working on no less than four new projects.
The big one is Metal Gear Solid 4, of course, which was previously shown at Sony's pre-E3 event. But this time there was more footage to view, and mention of a man who's trying to bring Big Boss's dream of an ideal world to life.
There was also a shot of Solid Snake saluting a tombstone, plus appearances by Naomi, Raiden, Otacon and Ocelot, who is furious with our hero for "killing his own flesh and blood." In addition, "Liquid has made his move", apparently - though it wasn't clear which one - and Snake has just six months to live. Still, he's got a spanky-looking camouflage suit that turns him into some kind of crazy human chameleon, which might cheer him up a bit.
Kojima's other current projects include Lunar Knights, a DS game featuring vampires from space. The top screen will display weather which affects gameplay, and you'll use the touch screen and the stylus to pull off special moves and shoot your enemies.
For PSP there's the Metal Gear Solid Digital Graphic Novel. Based on the MGS comic book, it's all looking very stylised and rather intriguing, and will apparently feature interactive elements.
Then there's Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, the PSP title that Kojima mentioned on his audio blog recently. You play as Big Boss, and old friends such as Eva and Ocelot are set to make an appearance. Looks like the game will feature a wi-fi multiplayer mode, too.
Look out for more info on Kojima's new projects and perhaps even a few release dates once E3 officially gets underway.
